There are many causes of pain, discomfort. and damage to teeth — toothache does not mean extraction. Often addressing such issues as gum disease, muscular problems, nerve infection or root canal problems negates the need for extraction. In the worst cases, when saving a tooth is not possible, extraction will be necessary.
